Director, Institute of Political Science and Administration Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin
Polish political scientist, researcher of international relations. Marek Pietraś graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw. In 1987 he defended his doctorate in political science there.
In 2012 he obtained the academic title of professor. His research interests include international security, ecological problems in international relations, theory of international relations, and globalization processes.
From 2009, vice-president of the Polish Society for International Studies. Member of the Political Science Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the Union of Scientists of Ukraine awarded him the title of "Best Foreign Scientist of 2021 in Ukraine". Prof. Marek Pietraś was honored for his contribution to the development of scientific cooperation between Poland and Ukraine.
In 2003 he was awarded the Gold Cross of Merit.
