Rafał Witkowski graduated from the Faculty of History (1991) and Faculty of Modern Languages (1994), Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Poland. He has been working at the Adam Mickiewicz University since 1991. His Ph.D. dissertation was awarded by the Prime Minister of Poland as the best in history in 1997. Rafał submitted his post-doctoral dissertation (Habilitationsschrift) in 2013 and became professor at the Adam Mickiewicz University in 2016. He is member of the Historical Committee of the Poznań Society for the Advancement of the Arts and Sciences and many other associations. He was visiting researcher at the Notre Dame University, Indiana, USA in 1999-2000 and lectured at many other universities. Rafał currently holds the position of Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Adam Mickiewicz University.
